What this program covers.

The Animal Welfare Officer Skill Set provides the knowledge and practical skills required to support animal welfare outcomes within the Australian meat processing industry. The program combines workplace-based practical training with supported theory to develop competency in line with industry and legislative requirements.

Entry requirements

Applicants should:

  • Be employed or have access to a suitable meat processing workplace.
  • Have access to a computer or mobile device with internet access.
  • Demonstrate suitable language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for eligible applicants.
